Have you ever felt like God was guiding you to do a certain
thing and suddenly the door closes? You
are left wondering what to do next. This
happened to us this past week. We made
an offer on a house we felt was “the one,” but upon inspection, we discovered
more than we could take on. The owner
was unwilling to make the necessary repairs, so we had no choice but to walk
away.
Now we are wondering if we should find another house or wait
until later this year. No one knows
what the future holds but God, so I want to definitely do things His way.
My natural mind can’t seem to figure out all the ins and
outs of what we should do and how we should do it. God’s wisdom is necessary.
Here are a few things I will concentrate on:
1.
Seek God – not just for answers but because He
is worthy to be praised regardless of whether I get what I want or not.
2.
Ask God to reveal anything in my life that could
hinder me from hearing His voice. If He
shows me things, repent.
3.
Lay down my own desires and submit my thoughts
to Him and ask for the mind of Christ.
4.
Ask the Lord to reveal anything Jerry and I need
to know and give us wisdom from above.
5.
Expect God to speak to both Jerry and me to
confirm we are on the right path.
6. Seek godly counsel to confirm the Word we feel God has shown us.
7. Keep walking through open doors and expect God to show us His ways.
God really doesn’t want us to make mistakes, and as we seek
Him, He will give us the answers we need in His timing. One thing I have discovered about God is He’s
never late and never early either.
I know for certain that God will never lead us astray. He will complete the work He has begun in our
lives.
