Come Away My Beloved

James 4:8
Come near to God and he will come near to you.

It’s been quite a while since I have posted anything on my blog.  Many things have distracted me, one being a move.  I will tell you more about that in later posts.

During the moving season, I only did what was necessary and the length of time it took for the entire process surprised me.    It left me exhausted mentally, physically and spiritually.

It’s amazing how our circumstances can just zap us completely.  I read some things during that time about finding our place in the Body of Christ.  I told God honestly, I didn’t want another thing to do.  Deep down I knew He had assignments for me, but I certainly didn’t want to hear it.

After I was able to rest and become more refreshed, God started stirring me.   Jerry and I decided it was time for me to pull away from routine for a while.

I have been at a friend’s cabin alone for four days now in Strawberry.  It has proven to be one of the best things I have ever done.  If you have never taken a spiritual get away by yourself, I highly recommend it.

You may not have the luxury of spending as much time as I have, but I would encourage you to go as long as you can somewhere - even if it’s just to a park across town for a few hours.

Jesus had people pulling on him all the time, but He always found time to slip away with the Father.   He missed sleep at times, but Jesus knew it was necessary.

God told us if we would draw near to Him, He would draw near to us.  Make a little effort, and God will meet you with whatever time you are able to carve out.  You will be glad you did.
