Mother's Day Surprise

Isaiah 49:18
Lift up your eyes and look around all your sons gather and come to you.
As surely as I live,” declares the LORD,“you will wear them all as ornaments;
you will put them on, like a bride.

Allow me to brag a little. I have three sons. They are the best ever. There were days when they were growing up that I secretly wondered how they would turn out. You know, those days when you get tired of having to discipline them AGAIN. However, they are now all grown and have far surpassed my expectations with the character they display in their lives.

For Mother’s Day what I really wanted was to be with all my kids. Two of them live in California. On Thursday evening they surprised me with a weekend visit. It had been quite some time since our family has all been together, and I was grateful for the time.

We celebrated at my son and daughter-in-law’s house on Saturday. What a blessing it was to all be together and be honored for the evening. They each went around and told what they appreciated about me. What more could a mother want? (The gifts were nice too, I will admit. Thanks, guys.)

Proverbs 31:28 (Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her) came alive for me that night. It was the best Mother’s Day ever.
