Running the Race Marked Out for Me

Hebrews 12:1
…Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

The Christmas season was an awesome time for me this year. I enjoyed being with family and friends. During the season, I totally set this blog aside. It was not on purpose. I just didn’t make it a priority. I was focusing on other things.

Have you heard the story of the person who turned left and was focusing so much on where he was headed that he missed the person at the intersection saying, “The road is closed ahead -- if you turn that way?”

I have been standing at the intersection and asking God to show me which way to turn in 2010. I want to hear what He has to say before doing what I want to do. I have come to the conclusion that I can’t do everything! God has a specific "race" marked out for each of us. He knows those things that will hold me back.

The beginning of a new year is a good time to reflect back over the past year and see all that you have accomplished and done as well as let go of any negative things that have occurred. And then determine what the new year should hold.

I have set out some specific things I believe God wants me involved in this year, and I am excited to see how the year progresses. My sister’s favorite word is “deliberate.” I do believe if we want to accomplish anything we must be deliberate about it!

In 2010, my plan is to break down my goals into steps to get me to the ultimate finish line and to let go of anything that will stand in the way!

How about you? What changes are you making in your life in 2010?

  1. Debbie - I totally agree with you! This is a year that I plan to take control through God's mercy and supernatural power!

  2. Amen, sister. We should hold each other accountable!
