John 15:5: I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
Lately I have been having power connection problems with my laptop. At first I thought the problem was with the cord, but now I know it’s the actual connector that is the culprit.
Yesterday the power supply worked fine and actually charged up my battery. Then it stopped working. The battery was full for a while, but eventually lost power too. Today it will not even power on!
This week, as I’ve struggled with my laptop, the Lord has reminded me that I also need to remain connected to him. It’s not enough to just fill my battery and then run on my own strength. I need to stay connected to the real source of power – God himself.
It’s a simple analogy, but at this busy time of year, one I really need to be reminded of. I hope you too are taking time to be connected to the Lord so you can be more fruitful in your life.
